You share a birthday with my cousin Hannah (who was about an hour from being a leap year baby) miss [info]folkloric_feel! Sorry this entry is a couple of hours late (by my time zone) but hey, I'm just stretching your birthday out longer. I hope you feel better soon!

Today I was supposed to work an eight hour shift, and leave at six. As I was about to clock back in from my lunch, the bookkeeper asks me to stay until eight, meaning ten hours. They told me I could take another lunch later. So I did it. Mostly 'cause I needed the money because I didn't have a lot of hours this week. And then someone ELSE called out and the other bookkeeper was all "will you stay til nine?". I told her no, because I just couldn't handle that. But my back and feet are killing me, and it was so many hours of work that even now, five and a half hours after I got off, I CAN'T SLEEP. I CAN'T EVEN RELAX.

Last night I went to a dance at school. I've been going here for six years and this is the first student dance ever in that time. (I participated in the "Big Band Dance" when I was in my first year, but that was a choir/band-sponsored fund-raiser that none of the students could afford to attend if they weren't participating.) Anyway, it was free, which was cool. I made some new friends. AND I got a door prize, which totally kicked all other door prizes I've ever seen's butts. I thought I was getting a really nice duffel bag. (And I did). Not some cheapo bag, either, like a really nice sturdy black and red one with my school's name embroidered on the side of it with the number 40. (Did I mention its our school's 40th anniversary, which was the reason for the sixties themed dance?) SO I carried it out the door with me when I left and went home. But then I opened it, to see if there was any zippered compartments on the inside, to find like a crapload of OTHER things inside! Two t-shirts, a cup, a mug (also school name 40 yrs, and HUGE), a squishy toy alligator, a stuffed animal alligator (its our mascot), a bracelet with the school name, AND TWO flash drives. (I REALLY NEEDED a flash drive...now I have two...not sure their capacity, they weren't labelled and I haven't stuck them in the computer yet but STILL, WOW!) AND a gift certificate to the school book store in the amount of ten dollars. THIS IS LIKE FIVE DAYS WORTH OF CAPPUCCINO AND MILK Y'ALL!!! But I don't know if I can split up a gift cert. over five days so I'll probably use it to offset the cost of something they sell that I want (which is too much: non-school books, clothing, and a wheeled backpack would be useful, especially once I get the laptop.)

Have I mentioned I drink a LOT of cappuccino (gas station machine variety) and milk at school? And milk everywhere? No? I do. Lots of people give up coke for lent. It would be pointless for me to do so as I almost never drink it. They should, however, serve 12 and 16 ounce milks in more places, because I'm sorry, Sonic, Chick-fil-a, Subway et. al, 8 OUNCES IS NOT ENOUGH MILK FOR AN ENTIRE MEAL.

OOH. GRR. Speaking of Subway. On my first lunch break today I went there. Now, I only get 30 minutes, and it is one of the two closest restaurants to work (it ties in length with Sonic). I STOOD in line for EIGHTEEN minutes. Then I had like 12 to scarf my food and get back to work. Did I mention that foot pain is my number one problem on this job and standing on breaks makes me just want to scream? ARGH SUBWAY YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE, IT SUCKS. So until some magical day where I get a cushy-er, hour lunch break type job, I will be choosing Sonic for my off-campus lunching needs. (And yes, I do work in a grocery store, but its also Saturday, which...yeah, NO. I would have stood for just as long on a Saturday in-store.) Suck on THAT, Subway.

Sorry for the ranting, but there was a lot of squeeing in there so I hope it balanced out a little. And happy birthday again, to Katybeth and my cousin (who turned 21 today  yesterday).

Edit: hahah I CAN'T BELIEVE I forgot to mention this until I was editing my tags and noticed this one.  ALL my HSM fangirls should be totally jealous. I am going to see an ACTUAL High School performance of High School Musical tomorrow today. It's costing me 7 dollars more than my 5 dollar movie ticket to see HSM3, but STILL. HSM ON STAGE, Y'ALL.

Ooh, AND I meant to mention this: There is a guy I work with who looks like the character Julius in Remember The Titans, and is apparently my high school alma mater's Troy Bolton-esque skills basketball star. I just thought that was funny.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAT!

Do you know what it did here in southeast Texas for your birthday?

It snowed!!!

Shockingest thing ever. I mean, it snowed here on Christmas 2005, and we got 8 inches, so it shouldn't have snowed again until like, 2025. But it did! It was light, and it wasn't sticking to anything but cars, but still OMG SNOW!!!!! For like five or six hours!

What a wierd first day on the job coincidence, yes? BTW, HEB is not a bad job to have. The pay is pretty good and though cart collecting in the snow without a scarf isn't my favorite thing, luckily I'll never have to do it again and I was so squee-ey about the snow it didn't really matter. Bagging is easy. I hope I get moved up to checker soon.

Happy Birthday (a day late) to [info]davonnaxlovesxu, a friend who has babysitting charges who are twelve who realize Derek and Casey are in love (how cool is THAT?), who should start posting again. (Sorry for being late).

And to [info]moirariordan, (a day early) who needs to update that fairy tale challenge story, because I want to know what happens, dang it! (Have fun at Mamma Mia, BTW).

See...I do keep up with you guys!

I'm not in the best mood today, but hopefully things will get better (and should!) soon. I feel like I haven't talked to some of you guys in ages, and those who I have talked to, it hasn't been enough!

Steph, those shirts I was telling you about in iCarly? I haven't seen Sam's again yet, but Carly's says "Ointment 500" and you mentioned it in your writeup on that ep, and its in iStakeout. Freddie's says "Quirky Chowder" and is in iFence. So I still need to find Sam's and am still expecting Spencer to show up in one.

For those of you who don't know what I am babbling about (it was a conversation over at Steph's blog, so you would have had to have eavesdropped) , in iStakeout I noticed Carly's "Ointment 500" shirt. It was just a purple ringer tee. Except the armband on the left sleeve wasn't purple, it was bright pink. Well I thought that was wierd. Later I noticed Sam wearing a bright pink ringer tee, with a purple left armband (i.e., the opposite from Carly's). Once I decided to mention it, however, I didn't know what eps they were in, and so I rediscovered some, but I haven't found Sam's again yet (which is why I don't know what hers said, either). Then in iFence, I noticed Freddie wearing a blue one that said "Quirky Chowder" (which, ointment, chowder? D&J Schneiderverse jokes FTW!)., with a red left armband. Since Sam's was Carly's opposite colorwise, I'm really hoping there's one where Spencer has a red shirt with a blue left armband, but I haven't seen it yet. I'm just letting you guys know this because its so clearly an in joke and they put those in to be noticed, so keep an eye out!

On that note, Steph, I remembered you mentioning that Ointment shirt and had gone through your iCarly tag to find it, and ran across that entire "Spencer is a Porn Star" conversation that started the tag...and um...its just as funny on a second readthrough.
